Haj 2027 Registrations Rise in Uttar Pradesh as 22,623 Pilgrims Apply, Reflecting Growing Interest and Better Services

Lucknow: Interest in the Haj pilgrimage has increased in Uttar Pradesh, with the state receiving 22,623 initial applications for Haj 2027, marking a rise of 1,654 applications compared to the previous cycle.
According to data released by the Haj Committee of India, Uttar Pradesh received 20,969 applications in the last cycle, while the number has now increased to 22,623. With this, the state has secured the fourth position nationally in terms of applications, following Gujarat, Maharashtra and Kerala, which recorded higher numbers.
Officials said the increase in registrations reflects better awareness campaigns, improved online facilities and stronger community outreach efforts by the Uttar Pradesh State Haj Committee. They added that easier digital processes and better guidance for applicants have encouraged more people to register for the pilgrimage.
During the previous Haj cycle, Uttar Pradesh was allocated a quota of 30,000 seats, but after document verification, medical requirements and completion of necessary formalities, 18,659 pilgrims were finally selected.
Uttar Pradesh Minister of State for Muslim Waqf, Haj and Waqf Affairs and chairman of the UP State Haj Committee, Danish Azad Ansari, credited the rise in applications to improved arrangements and efforts by both the central and state governments.
He said that better facilities and improved management for pilgrims have increased confidence among people planning to undertake Haj in 2027. He added that the government’s priority will remain providing quality food, accommodation and transportation facilities for pilgrims.
The minister also highlighted the role of digital initiatives such as the Haj Suvidha App, longer registration periods and special drives for passport processing and medical screening, which helped applicants complete the process more smoothly.
The registration process for Haj 2027 recently concluded through an online application system. After the application stage, seat allocation will be conducted through a digital random selection process known as Qurrah.
Pilgrims selected through the draw will have to complete further requirements, including payment of the advance amount, health checks and submission of necessary documents.
The UP Haj authorities have advised applicants to regularly check official updates and complete any pending formalities within the given timelines to ensure a smooth journey for the sacred pilgrimage.
