Family Harassed, Chased and Attacked After Visiting Bhavli Dam in Maharashtra’s Igatpuri; Several Arrested

Nashik : A peaceful family outing to Bhavli Dam in Maharashtra’s Igatpuri taluka turned violent after a group of local men allegedly harassed a woman and later chased the family before attacking them.

According to police, the family of eight had visited the popular tourist spot on Saturday afternoon to enjoy the scenic surroundings when some local men allegedly passed inappropriate remarks at one of the women. The incident led to a heated argument between the family and the group.

As tensions escalated, more local men reportedly joined the confrontation. The family decided to leave the area, but the group allegedly followed them for nearly 15–20 kilometres. During the chase, the attackers allegedly assaulted the family using an iron rod.

The family managed to reach Ambad Police Station in Nashik, where they sought immediate help. Their complaint was later transferred to the Igatpuri Police Station, which launched an investigation into the incident.

Police have confirmed that several people have been arrested in connection with the attack, and further investigation is underway
