Zeeshan Siddique Receives Alleged Death Threat; Mumbai Police Begin Probe Into Viral Audio Clip
Mumbai : Mumbai police have started an investigation after NCP leader and former MLA Zeeshan Siddique allegedly received a death threat through a viral audio clip circulating on social media.
According to police officials, Siddique’s sister approached the Bandra police after hearing the audio clip online. Based on her complaint, police registered a non-cognisable offence and are now verifying whether the recording is genuine.
In the audio clip, a person claiming to be gangster Zeeshan Akhtar allegedly warns Siddique to increase his security and makes threats against him. The clip also reportedly mentions the murder of Siddique’s father, Baba Siddique, and refers to the Sushant Singh Rajput case. However, the authenticity of the recording has not yet been confirmed.
Police officials said they are investigating whether the voice in the audio belongs to Zeeshan Akhtar. They added that Siddique himself has not yet filed a formal complaint in connection with the alleged threat.
Zeeshan Siddique has been under security concerns since the killing of his father, Baba Siddique, who was shot dead outside his Bandra office in October 2024. Police investigations into that case had allegedly linked gangster Zeeshan Akhtar to the attack, while Lawrence Bishnoi was named as the alleged mastermind in the chargesheet.
Authorities are continuing their probe to determine the source and credibility of the viral audio clip.
