UP Shocker: Man’s Hands Chopped Off in Axe Attack at Petrol Pump After Dispute, Police Probe Underway

Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh: A 28-year-old man was brutally attacked with an axe at a petrol pump in Uttar Pradesh’s Mahoba district following an argument, leaving him critically injured with both hands severed from the wrists.
The incident took place around 11 pm on Tuesday near Chandel Petrol Pump on the Kanpur-Sagar Highway. According to police, the victim, identified as Jaivendra Singh alias Vikki, had gone to the petrol pump to get fuel when a dispute broke out during refuelling.
The victim’s family said there was no previous rivalry with the attackers and alleged that the attack happened suddenly after an argument. They have also claimed the involvement of a local politician, prompting police to investigate the allegations.
After the attack, Vikki was found lying on the road in a pool of blood. Locals alerted the police, following which he was rushed to the district hospital. His family members also reached the spot, where his mother tried to provide immediate help by tying his severed hands with a cloth and covering his head wounds to control the bleeding.
Doctors at the district hospital said the victim had suffered severe injuries. Dr Shishupal stated that his hands were almost completely cut off, along with serious injuries to his leg and deep wounds on his head caused by a sharp weapon. After initial treatment, he was referred to a higher medical facility due to his critical condition.
Police have begun an investigation and are examining CCTV footage from the petrol pump to gather more details about the incident. One accused has reportedly been detained, while further efforts are underway to identify and arrest others involved.
The shocking attack has raised concerns over law and order in the area, as authorities continue their probe into the circumstances behind the brutal assault.
