Rajasthan MLA Ravindra Singh Bhati Slams Bulldozer Action, Tells NDTV: ‘Will Fight From Assembly to Streets’

“MLA Ravindra Singh Bhati criticised the bulldozer action.”
Rajasthan : The political atmosphere in Rajasthan has intensified after a bulldozer drive was carried out against alleged encroachments on land earmarked for a proposed residential colony by the Jaisalmer Municipal Council. Shiv MLA Ravindra Singh Bhati has strongly opposed the action, saying he will fight the issue “from the Assembly to the streets.”
Speaking exclusively to NDTV during his visit to Jaisalmer, Bhati addressed the bulldozer action, the LDC exam controversy, and the issue of Oran (sacred forest) conservation. He said any administrative action must be carried out strictly within the framework of the law while respecting public sentiment, urging authorities to act with greater sensitivity.
Assures Support to Affected Families
Bhati said he had met residents of Totaram Dhani and other affected people following the demolition drive. He assured them that he would firmly stand by those who had legitimate claims.
He stressed that while encroachments should be removed, the process must strictly follow legal procedures. He urged the state government and district administration to avoid arbitrary action and ensure that genuinely needy families are protected.
“We will fight this issue from the Assembly to the streets,” the MLA said.
“Poor People’s Homes Should Not Be Demolished”
Bhati also referred to the legacy of former Jaisalmer ruler Maharawal Brajraj Singh. He said the royal family had played an important role in settling people in the region, and using Maharawal Brajraj Singh’s name to justify demolishing the homes of poor families was inappropriate.
He added that such actions should not tarnish the late ruler’s legacy.
Raises Concern Over LDC Exam Leak Allegations
Commenting on the alleged LDC examination paper leak in Jaisalmer, Bhati described the matter as serious.
He said that if the paper leak allegations are true, they are deeply concerning and require immediate attention from both the district administration and the Rajasthan government to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Voices Concern Over Oran Conservation
Bhati also spoke about the protection of Orans, the sacred community forests of Rajasthan.
He said villagers have become much more aware of their rights and the importance of conserving these forests. According to him, many people are now approaching district authorities and government offices with their concerns, making it essential for the administration to handle the issue with greater sensitivity.
Calls for Fair and Lawful Action
Concluding his remarks, Bhati said every administrative action should remain within the boundaries of the law and no individual should face injustice.
He urged the administration to work impartially while respecting public sentiment, adding that the rule of law and judicial processes must always remain paramount.
