New Delhi: Abhijeet Dipke Says BJP Should Listen to Mohan Bhagwat, Claims Party Must Remember RSS’ Role
New Delhi | August 31, 2026 : A fresh political debate has emerged around the relationship between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its ideological parent, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), after Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke said the ruling party should pay greater attention to the views expressed by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.
Dipke, who previously led a protest at Jantar Mantar over alleged irregularities in the NEET examination, argued that the BJP should not lose sight of the organisation that played a major role in building its political base.
Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Dipke claimed that the BJP may have begun to believe that it has become more powerful than the RSS after spending years in government.
“I have been saying from the beginning that the BJP should listen to Mohan Bhagwat,” Dipke said, according to news agency PTI. He argued that after more than a decade in power and with several government agencies under its control, the BJP appeared to be acting as though it had grown bigger than the RSS.
Dipke Contrasts Bhagwat’s Remarks With Modi’s Comments
Dipke’s criticism centred largely on what he described as a difference in tone between Mohan Bhagwat’s recent statements and remarks attributed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He referred to Bhagwat’s earlier comments concerning young people involved in protests, saying the RSS chief had cautioned against branding protesting members of Generation Z as anti-national.
Dipke contrasted that position with Prime Minister Modi’s use of the phrase “dimagi naxal”, arguing that the difference showed that the BJP leadership was not necessarily following the RSS chief’s approach.
According to Dipke, Bhagwat has repeatedly spoken about inclusivity and the need to avoid disrespecting young people. He said that using strongly worded labels for protesters did not fit with that message.
“This doesn’t look good,” Dipke said while discussing what he described as the contrasting positions.
‘BJP Is in Power Because of RSS’, Dipke Says
Dipke went on to argue that the BJP’s electoral strength cannot be separated from the organisational support and ideological foundation provided by the RSS.
“They should at least listen to Mohan Bhagwat, who is their mentor… they are in power because of the RSS,” he said.
His comments come amid continuing public discussion over the relationship between the BJP and RSS and how closely the political organisation should align itself with the views of the Sangh leadership.
Bhagwat has also recently spoken about Hindu identity and inclusivity. Referring to the question of Muslims in India, he said that a Hindu who believes there should be no Muslims in Bharat would not remain true to the idea of Hindu identity.
Dipke cited such remarks as an example of the RSS chief’s emphasis on inclusion.
Dipke Responds to Sonam Wangchuk’s Comments
During the interaction with reporters, Dipke was also asked about remarks made by activist Sonam Wangchuk concerning the political ambitions of CJP leaders.
Wangchuk had said in an interview with a YouTube channel that CJP leaders, including Abhijeet Dipke, Ashutosh Ranka and Sourav Das, were “not saints” and could potentially have political ambitions.
Dipke, however, argued that Wangchuk’s comments had been taken out of context.
According to Dipke, Wangchuk was initially asked whether Sourav Das and Ashutosh Ranka had political ambitions. Dipke said Wangchuk had actually praised the group, describing them as talented leaders and noting that they had conducted their agitation honestly and had not been accused of corruption so far.
Dipke said the discussion later moved to what the leaders might do in the future.
‘Nobody Can Predict the Future’
Responding to that part of Wangchuk’s comments, Dipke said it was impossible for anyone to know exactly what another person might do in the future.
He also said people should avoid placing “blind faith” in political or social leaders.
Dipke said he himself repeatedly tells people not to blindly trust anyone because circumstances and individual decisions can change over time.
