Massive Haryana Land Deal Controversy: Khattar Launches Personal Review of Allegations Against Former OSD Nirav Daftar, Says No Corrupt Person Will Be Spared

A major political storm has erupted in Haryana after serious allegations surfaced against former Officer on Special Duty Nirav Daftar over a controversial land transaction. The issue has now reached the top level of the government, with Manohar Lal Khattar announcing that he will personally review the case and examine all records connected to the matter.

Addressing the media, Khattar said he has already taken cognizance of the allegations and ordered concerned departments to submit complete files, documents and transaction details. He said although he had been out of station for the last two days, he immediately sought official records after learning of the controversy. His statement has intensified political attention around the issue.

Khattar strongly reiterated that his government follows a zero-tolerance policy toward corruption. He declared that no person would receive protection, whether holding a top government post or a lower rank, if found involved in illegal activities. He stressed that his administration never tolerated corruption in the past and would continue to take strict action in future as well.

The controversy began after Aam Aadmi Party leaders levelled serious charges against Nirav Daftar and his family regarding a land deal that allegedly took place in 2022. According to opposition leaders, a company named A.N.A Real Logistics purchased land worth approximately ₹2.73 crore. However, later the company along with the land was allegedly transferred to Daftar’s family members for only ₹75 lakh.

Opposition leaders claimed that the huge difference in value raises serious doubts about the legality and fairness of the transaction. They alleged the deal may have been designed to create illegal financial benefits using influence and official power. These accusations have now become the centre of a political battle in Haryana.

Adding further fuel to the controversy, opposition leaders also questioned the unusually fast approval process for change of land use permissions. According to the allegations, the company applied for approval to build a non-agricultural warehouse, and the required letter of intent was reportedly issued within just 12 working days. Critics say such quick clearance has created suspicion over whether special influence was used behind the scenes.

The opposition has now demanded a full-scale probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation, saying only an independent investigation can reveal the truth. They have accused the government of protecting powerful individuals and demanded accountability in the matter.

Khattar, however, said he would speak in greater detail only after reviewing all official records and verifying facts. He also warned that if anyone tries to disrupt his public events over the issue, law enforcement agencies will act according to law. At the same time, he added that opposition parties also have the right to hold peaceful programs without disturbance.

The case has now turned into one of the biggest political flashpoints in Haryana in recent times. With pressure mounting from opposition parties and public attention increasing, all eyes are now on whether the review ordered by Khattar leads to a deeper investigation or exposes a larger land scam.
