Engaged Couple Found Dead Hours Apart in Two States, Police Probe Circumstances

Karnataka : A tragic incident has left the families of a young engaged couple devastated after they were found dead in two different states within hours of each other. Both were employees of the same bank and had been preparing for their wedding, which was reportedly planned for December.

P Anushree, 25, from Poochakkad in Kasaragod, Kerala, was working at a bank branch in Hunsur, Karnataka. Her fiancé, V Amal, 26, from Iritty in Kannur, was employed at the bank’s Ernakulam branch in Kerala.

The couple had recently become engaged and were looking forward to getting married later this year. Their deaths, occurring just hours apart, have now prompted investigations by police in both states.

Anushree found dead in Karnataka

According to police, Anushree was found dead at the accommodation where she was staying in Hunsur, Karnataka. Following a post-mortem examination, her body was taken to her hometown in Kasaragod, where her last rites were conducted on Wednesday evening.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding her death and are examining information that could help establish what happened before she was found dead.

Amal died hours later in Ernakulam

Amal was staying with friends in Ernakulam. Police said that after learning about Anushree’s death, he appeared to have checked into a lodge in the city on Wednesday.

He was later found dead inside the hotel room.

Ernakulam North police suspect that Amal may have died by suicide. However, officials have not reached a final conclusion and said the exact circumstances will become clear only after a detailed investigation.

No suicide note was found at the scene.

Investigators are also expected to examine Amal’s mobile phone and other available evidence to understand his movements and communications before his death.

Police continue to investigate

The fact that the two deaths occurred within hours of one another has raised several questions, but police have not publicly established a definitive link between the circumstances surrounding the two deaths.

Investigators are gathering information from family members, colleagues and others who may have interacted with the couple shortly before the incidents.

Authorities are also expected to examine the sequence of events between Anushree’s death and Amal’s decision to check into the lodge.

For the families, the tragedy is particularly heartbreaking as the couple had reportedly been making plans for their future together and were expected to marry in December.

A separate case in Noida

The incident comes amid another recent case involving the death of a young newlywed in Noida.

In that case, a 24-year-old woman died after falling from the 16th floor of a high-rise in Sector 110 on Sunday. Her 28-year-old husband was subsequently arrested on allegations related to dowry death after the woman’s family accused him of demanding dowry.

Police said the couple had been in a relationship for around two years before getting married on July 11. They had moved into their Sector 110 residence only the previous month.

The woman, who was from Etah, worked at a call centre, while her husband, a native of Dehradun, worked as a video editor at a private company in Noida.

The incident was reported at around 5:30 pm. A security guard alerted the police after the woman fell from the building.

Police reached the residential complex and identified the woman with the help of residents. Officers later went to the couple’s flat, where they found the woman’s husband asleep. According to an investigator, he opened the door and appeared shocked when police informed him about what had happened.

The woman’s family later accused her husband of demanding dowry, prompting police action.

While the Noida case is being investigated separately, the deaths of Anushree and Amal have drawn attention because of the couple’s engagement, their plans to marry and the fact that they died in two different states within a matter of hours.

Police in Kerala and Karnataka are continuing their respective investigations, and further details are expected to emerge as forensic examinations and other inquiries progress.
