Pune Fort Murder Case: Accused Couple Taken Back to Crime Scene 10 Days After Fiancé’s Death

Maharashtra , June 28 : Ten days after the shocking death of 26-year-old realtor Ketan Agarwal, police took the two accused — his fiancée Siya Goyal and her alleged lover Chetan Chaudhary — back to Pune’s historic Lohagad Fort on Sunday to recreate the crime scene and understand exactly how the alleged murder unfolded.

The visit marks an important step in the investigation into the June 18 incident that has left both families and the local community shaken. According to police, Ketan was allegedly pushed off the fort by Siya and Chetan as part of a planned conspiracy.

Investigators say the reconstruction is crucial to establish the sequence of events and verify the statements given by both accused during questioning. Police officers escorted them separately to the fort and made them walk through the same route they had taken on the day of the incident.

Siya was first taken to the exact spot from where Ketan is believed to have fallen to his death. Officials closely observed her movements, trying to piece together what happened in those final moments. Later, Chetan was also brought in separately for his version of the reconstruction.

According to police, the process involves more than simply revisiting the location. Officers are mapping every detail — how the trio reached the fort, where each person stood, what conversations may have taken place, and how the alleged push happened. The entire exercise has been video recorded as part of the evidence.

Investigators are particularly focusing on one key detail — the alleged signal Siya may have given before the attack. Police believe this signal may have indicated the exact moment for Chetan to act. They are also trying to confirm whether Chetan had secretly followed the couple throughout the trip and whether he entered the fort without buying a ticket.

The murder case has shocked many because of the disturbing motive emerging behind it. During questioning, police said Siya admitted she did not want to marry Ketan but felt trapped by family pressure and feared social humiliation if she called off the wedding. Instead of ending the relationship openly, investigators believe she allegedly conspired with Chetan to eliminate him.

The investigation has also revealed troubling digital evidence. Earlier reports suggest Siya and Chetan had searched online for ways to kill Ketan and even prepared answers in advance in case they were questioned by police. This has strengthened suspicions that the crime may have been carefully planned rather than impulsive.

Meanwhile, the police are widening their investigation beyond just the two accused. On Saturday, Siya’s parents — Pravin Goyal and Puja Goyal — along with her brother Sahil Goyal, were questioned for nearly 12 hours at the Pune Rural Police station. Authorities are trying to determine whether the family had any prior knowledge of the relationship issues or the alleged plan.

Sahil had also been questioned separately for over 10 hours a day earlier. However, police have not yet indicated whether the family could face any charges.

Back in Ketan’s hometown of Gahunje, emotions remain high. Friends, neighbours, and family members organized a candlelight march demanding justice for the young man whose life was cut short so brutally.

Ketan’s father, Vishal Agarwal, made an emotional appeal to the public, asking anyone who was present at Lohagad Fort that day to come forward and share information.

He said several people had witnessed parts of the incident but had not yet approached the police. According to him, even small details could help investigators uncover the full truth and ensure justice for his son.

The tragic case has sparked conversations about trust, betrayal, and the devastating consequences of hidden relationships and unresolved emotional conflicts. What was supposed to be a future built on marriage and commitment ended in death, leaving behind heartbreak and unanswered questions.

As the investigation continues, police are now examining phone records, travel history, and digital footprints of both accused to understand how long the alleged conspiracy had been in the making. With each passing day, new details are emerging, making this one of the most disturbing murder investigations in Pune in recent times.
