PM Modi, Macron Launch Bharat Innovates 2026 in France, Strengthening India-France Innovation Ties

June 14 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron came together in Nice to jointly inaugurate the Bharat Innovates 2026 conclave, marking a major step in strengthening the growing innovation partnership between India and France.

The three-day event has brought together startups, innovators, venture capitalists, and industry leaders from across the world, creating a global platform for technology, investment, and collaboration.

The conclave is part of the India-France Year of Innovation and reflects the deepening strategic ties between New Delhi and Paris beyond traditional diplomacy.

Welcoming PM Modi, Macron described it as an honour to host him and praised India’s rapid growth in innovation and research. Highlighting India’s achievements, he pointed to the success of Chandrayaan-3 Moon Landing as a symbol of the country’s technological strength and ambition.

Addressing the gathering, PM Modi spoke about the special relationship between India and France, saying their partnership is driven not just by common interests but by a shared vision for the future.

He recalled Macron’s earlier statement that India and France must work together to solve the challenges of this century and said Bharat Innovates is a step in that direction.

“This platform is becoming a bridge between Indian talent and European capital,” Modi said, adding that young Indian innovators are now getting opportunities to connect with global expertise and investors.

Before the formal launch, PM Modi interacted with key investors and business leaders, including Ritesh Agarwal and Ronnie Screwvala.

The Bharat Innovates 2026 event features over 120 Indian innovators, several higher education institutions, and more than 500 investors, along with global CEOs and venture capital firms.

The conclave focuses on 13 future-driven sectors, including semiconductors, space technology, biotechnology, healthcare, defence innovation, advanced computing, energy, and climate solutions.

The event is being seen as a major opportunity to showcase India’s growing deep-tech ecosystem on the global stage and attract international partnerships and investments.
