Gujarat Teen Dies in Tragic Paragliding Accident in Himachal Pradesh; Pilot Injured
A family vacation turned into a heartbreaking tragedy when 19-year-old Bhavsar Khushi from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, lost her life in a paragliding accident in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, on Saturday evening. The pilot, a 29-year-old, was injured and is currently receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.
Khushi, who had come to Himachal Pradesh with her family, decided to try paragliding at the popular Indrunag site. According to Additional Superintendent of Police Kangra, Bir Bahadur, the accident occurred just as the canopy was about to take off. It suddenly collapsed, causing Khushi and the pilot to fall down the hill.
Khushi was pronounced dead at the scene, while the pilot was rushed to the hospital with injuries. Her body has been sent to Zonal Hospital Dharamshala for a post-mortem and will be handed over to her family afterward.
This tragic incident highlights the importance of ensuring stringent safety measures for adventure sports activities.
