Thousands Join CJP Protest at Jantar Mantar, Demand Accountability Over Exam Controversies

A large crowd of students, parents, and young professionals gathered at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on Friday as the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) held its much-anticipated protest, demanding accountability for alleged irregularities in major national examinations and calling for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
The movement, founded by Abhijeet Dipke, has grown from an online satirical campaign into a youth-driven political platform that resonates with many young Indians frustrated by recurring controversies in exams such as NEET-UG, CUET, CBSE, and SSC GD.
Leading the demonstration, Dipke declared that young people would no longer remain silent. Addressing supporters, he said that the country’s youth are prepared to fight for transparency and fairness in the education system. Many protesters arrived wearing symbolic cockroach masks, carrying creative posters, books, flowers, and the national flag to emphasize the peaceful nature of the gathering.
Security arrangements across Delhi were significantly tightened ahead of the protest. More than 1,000 police personnel were deployed at key locations, including border checkpoints and the airport, to maintain law and order.
Meanwhile, police in Maharashtra also increased security around Dipke’s residence in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar as public interest in the movement continued to grow. Officials stated that additional personnel were stationed to prevent overcrowding and ensure safety.
Social activist Sonam Wangchuk extended his support to the protesters and expressed concern over any possible action against Dipke. He stated that he would undertake a six-week fast if punitive measures were taken against the CJP founder.
The protest attracted hundreds of participants who raised slogans demanding reforms in the examination system and greater accountability from authorities. Organizers repeatedly urged supporters to remain peaceful and disciplined throughout the demonstration.
Abhijeet Dipke, who is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Public Relations at Boston University, returned from the United States to participate in the protest. Before launching CJP in 2026, he had worked in political communication and digital campaigning, including volunteer work with the Aam Aadmi Party’s social media team.
As the demonstration continues, authorities remain on alert while organizers insist that their movement seeks constitutional and peaceful methods to highlight concerns affecting millions of students across India.
