TCS Nashik Case: Woman Alleges Religious Pressure, Says She Was Encouraged to Abandon Hindu Practices

A 23-year-old woman involved in the ongoing TCS Nashik sexual harassment and conversion case has alleged that she was repeatedly exposed to religious content aimed at influencing her faith. According to the chargesheet filed by the Special Investigation Team (SIT), the woman claimed she was encouraged to watch videos of Pakistani Islamic preacher Tariq Jamil and speeches by controversial preacher Zakir Naik.
The case is part of a wider investigation launched by the Maharashtra government after several women working at a BPO unit associated with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Nashik accused colleagues of sexual exploitation, harassment, religious coercion, molestation, and mental abuse.
In her statement, the complainant alleged that Danish Shaikh, one of the accused, developed a close relationship with her despite being married and allegedly promised to marry her. She claimed that during this period, he repeatedly encouraged her to distance herself from her Hindu faith and religious practices.
According to the chargesheet, Shaikh allegedly advised her to stop listening to devotional songs and visiting temples, telling her that doing so would reduce her stress and anxiety. He also reportedly suggested that she recite Islamic prayers and seek spiritual comfort through religious practices associated with Islam.
The chargesheet has been filed against Danish Shaikh, Tausif Attar, and Nida Khan in a case registered at the Deolali Camp Police Station. Investigators are currently examining the allegations as part of the broader probe into the claims made by multiple women employees.
Authorities have stated that the investigation is ongoing, and all allegations will be examined based on evidence presented during the legal process.
