Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 3 Design, Colours and Price Leaked Online
Samsung may be preparing to launch a new generation of its popular tracking device, with early details about the Galaxy SmartTag 3 reportedly surfacing online.
The leaked information offers a first look at the tracker’s possible design, colour options and pricing. However, Samsung has not officially announced the Galaxy SmartTag 3, so the reported specifications, launch timeline and price should be treated as unconfirmed for now.
The new tracker is expected to take on rivals such as Apple’s AirTag and Google’s trackers that work with the Find Hub network.
Galaxy SmartTag 3 Design Leaked
According to images shared by SammyGuru, the Galaxy SmartTag 3 could feature a squircle-shaped body with rounded corners and a circular section at the centre.
The leaked White version appears to have a light-coloured outer frame, while the central portion seems to feature a brushed-metal-style finish surrounded by a raised ring.
Interestingly, the images do not appear to show a built-in hole for attaching the tracker directly to a keyring or lanyard. If the design remains unchanged, users may need a separate protective case or accessory to attach the SmartTag 3 to keys, backpacks or luggage.
The overall design appears somewhat reminiscent of Samsung’s original Galaxy SmartTag, which also featured a rounded-square shape with a circular centre.
The Galaxy SmartTag 3 is reportedly expected to launch in Black and White colour options.
Successor to Galaxy SmartTag 2
The Galaxy SmartTag 3 would mark Samsung’s first major update to its tracker lineup since the Galaxy SmartTag 2 launched in October 2023.
The SmartTag 2 currently supports Bluetooth Low Energy 5.3, with a claimed range of up to 120 metres, along with Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology for more precise location tracking on compatible devices.
It works with compatible Samsung Galaxy smartphones and tablets running Android 9 or later and connects through the SmartThings ecosystem.
The existing SmartTag 2 also carries an IP67 rating, offering protection against dust and water. Its NFC-enabled Lost Mode can display registered contact information and a message on a finder’s compatible smartphone.
Battery life is rated at up to 500 days in Normal Mode and as much as 700 days in Power Saving Mode.
Samsung has yet to reveal whether the Galaxy SmartTag 3 will bring major upgrades to any of these features.
Galaxy SmartTag 3 Price Tipped
The new leak also claims that the Galaxy SmartTag 3 could be priced at around EUR 45.95, which translates to roughly ₹5,100.
If accurate, that would make the new tracker approximately EUR 6 (around ₹700) more expensive than its predecessor in Europe.
The US price, however, is reportedly expected to remain at $29.99, or roughly ₹2,900 based on current conversion estimates.
The tracker has also reportedly received certification from South Korea’s National Radio Research Institute, suggesting that development may be progressing.
For now, however, there is no official confirmation from Samsung regarding the SmartTag 3’s launch date, specifications or pricing.
If the leaked information proves accurate, Samsung’s next tracker could arrive as a modest design refresh with updated features aimed at keeping the company competitive in the growing item-tracking market.
