Pune Murder Case: Police Question Fiancee and Her Alleged Lover Together Over Ketan Agarwal’s Death

Police investigating the murder of businessman Ketan Agarwal have intensified their probe by questioning his fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, face-to-face as they attempt to uncover the full sequence of events leading to the shocking crime.
According to officials, the two accused were made to sit opposite each other and were interrogated late into the night. Both have been remanded to seven days of police custody as investigators piece together the alleged conspiracy.
Love Triangle Led to Deadly Plot, Say Police
Investigators claim Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary were involved in a relationship that began in November 2025 after meeting at a business event. While Siya ran a bakery business, Chetan operated a dry-fruit enterprise.
At the same time, Siya’s engagement to Ketan Agarwal was progressing, with both families preparing for an extravagant wedding scheduled for November 2026.
Police allege that Chetan viewed Ketan as an obstacle to his relationship with Siya, leading the pair to allegedly hatch a plan to eliminate him.
Associate Detained for Questioning
The investigation has also expanded to include Neeraj Kumar, an employee at Chetan’s business. Police have detained him for questioning after discovering that Chetan allegedly carried Kumar’s mobile phone with him on the day of the murder.
Investigators suspect the device may have been used to communicate with Siya in an attempt to avoid detection.
Wedding Plans End in Tragedy
Ketan and Siya had publicly announced their engagement in February, and preparations were reportedly underway for a lavish wedding involving luxury venues and private travel arrangements.
The case has also brought attention to an earlier incident involving a planned pre-wedding photoshoot in Bali. According to Ketan’s father, the trip was cancelled after Ketan discovered his passport was missing at Mumbai airport. He has alleged that Siya deliberately hid the passport to prevent the journey.
Failed Murder Attempt Before Fatal Incident
Police believe the alleged murder plot did not begin on June 18.
Investigators claim Siya first attempted to kill Ketan during a visit to Lohagad Fort on June 14 by pushing him toward a steep drop. However, Ketan reportedly managed to save himself by grabbing onto nearby vegetation.
To avoid suspicion, Siya allegedly created a diversion by shouting about seeing a snake and then comforting him after the incident.
Second Visit Turns Deadly
According to the investigation, Siya later persuaded Ketan to return to Lohagad Fort for another outing.
Police allege that she coordinated with Chetan before the trip and called him to the location. During the visit, the two accused allegedly pushed Ketan into a deep gorge from behind, leading to his death.
The case has shocked both Maharashtra and Delhi due to the dramatic allegations, the failed first attempt, and the fact that the victim and accused were only months away from their wedding.
The investigation remains ongoing as police continue to gather evidence and question those connected to the case.
