Porsche Cayenne Electric To Launch In India Tomorrow: Range, Performance, Features And More

Porsche India is all set to launch the Cayenne Electric in the country on September 30, 2026. The electric SUV arrives nearly a year after Porsche first announced plans to bring it to India.

At launch, the Cayenne Electric will be available in two versions — Cayenne Electric and Cayenne Turbo Electric — before buyers choose from the available options and customisations.

Powertrain, Performance And Range

Both versions are powered by a 113 kWh battery pack and feature dual electric motors with all-wheel drive.

The standard Cayenne Electric produces 408 hp and 835 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.8 seconds, has an electronically limited top speed of 230 kmph, and offers a claimed range of up to 642 km on a single charge.

The more powerful Cayenne Turbo Electric takes performance to another level, producing 1,156 hp and 1,150 Nm. It can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 2.5 seconds, reach a top speed of 260 kmph, and has a claimed range of 623 km.

Both variants come with adaptive air suspension as standard. Buyers can also opt for rear-axle steering, which is designed to improve agility and stability, particularly at higher speeds.

Porsche says the Cayenne Electric can recover energy through regenerative braking at up to 600kW under ideal conditions. The company also claims that electric motors can handle around 97 per cent of braking.

Familiar Cayenne Design With EV-Specific Changes

The Cayenne Electric retains the recognisable shape of its combustion-engine counterpart, but Porsche has made several changes to give it a distinct electric identity.

The front end features a blanked-off grille, side air vents for cooling and active aerodynamic elements. Other exterior highlights include gloss-black lower cladding, 20- to 22-inch alloy wheels, and a full-width LED light bar with illuminated Porsche lettering.

The Turbo Electric gets a body-coloured skid plate, while the standard Cayenne Electric uses an all-black finish.

Measuring 4,985 mm in length, the electric Cayenne is 55 mm longer than the ICE-powered model. It has a 3,023 mm wheelbase, is 1,980 mm wide and 1,674 mm tall.

Despite being an EV, practicality remains a focus. Porsche quotes a 90-litre frunk and a 781-litre boot, with luggage capacity increasing to 1,588 litres when the powered rear seats are folded.

High-Tech Interior

The cabin brings a major technology upgrade, with the Cayenne Electric featuring a digital driver’s display and a 14.5-inch curved infotainment touchscreen. Porsche says the latter will be a first for one of its models in India.

An optional 14.9-inch passenger display and an augmented-reality head-up display are also available.

Standard equipment includes eight-way electrically adjustable front seats, with 18-way seats available as an upgrade. The SUV also gets four-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof and wireless smartphone charging.

For audio, Porsche will offer a 14-speaker Bose system as standard, while a 20-speaker Harman Kardon system will be available as an option.

Another notable feature is the optional 11kW wireless charging system. When paired with a compatible wallbox, it allows the Cayenne Electric to be charged at home without a conventional physical charging connection.

Rivals In India

The Porsche Cayenne Electric will enter India’s premium electric SUV segment, where it will face models such as the Audi Q8 e-tron, BMW iX and Lotus Eletre.

With its combination of high performance, long claimed range, luxury equipment and Porsche’s performance-focused engineering, the Cayenne Electric will add another high-end option to India’s growing electric SUV market.
