Nestlé India Refutes Viral Maggi Infestation Claim, Says Product Passed All Quality Checks

Fast-moving consumer goods giant Nestlé India has strongly denied allegations circulating on social media that claimed Maggi noodles were found to be infested, stating that extensive testing confirmed the product meets all quality and food safety standards.

The controversy emerged after an unverified social media account posted allegations regarding the presence of infestation in a batch of Maggi noodles. Following the viral claims, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) sought clarification from the company.

In a response submitted to stock exchanges, Nestlé India said it categorically rejects the allegations and emphasized that no evidence has been found to support the claims.

According to the company, it has not yet received any product sample from the complainant for examination. Nestlé also stated that attempts to contact the individual behind the complaint were unsuccessful, as the account was reportedly unreachable.

As part of its standard quality control procedures, the company sent reference samples from the same production batch to an independent FSSAI-notified and NABL-accredited laboratory for testing.

The laboratory analysis reportedly found no signs of infestation. Nestlé India further said that additional testing of market samples and batch records also confirmed compliance with all food safety and quality requirements.

The company informed regulators that it has already submitted detailed documentation to FSSAI, including laboratory reports, quality records, batch data and market sample analysis, to support its position.

Reaffirming its commitment to consumer safety, Nestlé India stated that strict quality assurance and food safety protocols are followed across all manufacturing facilities and that it remains fully transparent with regulatory authorities.

The company expressed confidence that the facts and scientific evidence will ultimately establish the truth and dispel concerns raised by the viral social media posts.
