NEET Re-Test Chaos: Nagpur Student Shocked After Admit Card Shows Abu Dhabi Exam Centre

Nagpur , June 20 : A major technical error by the National Testing Agency has left a Nagpur student and his family deeply distressed just a day before the Re-NEET UG 2026 examination. In a bizarre mix-up, the student’s admit card showed an exam centre in Abu Dhabi instead of India, sparking concern over the accuracy of the examination process.

The student, Abdullah Mohammad Talib, had applied for the re-exam from Nagpur and had selected nearby cities — Nagpur, Wardha, and Bhandara — as his preferred examination centres. Like thousands of other candidates, he was preparing for the crucial exam scheduled for June 21. But when he downloaded his admit card, the family was stunned to find that his allotted exam centre was an Indian school located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The shocking mistake quickly turned into a nightmare for the family because Abdullah does not even have a passport, making it impossible for him to travel abroad to appear for the exam. His father, Dr. Mohammad Talib, said the family was in complete disbelief, and Abdullah was left in tears after seeing the admit card. For a student already under immense pressure preparing for one of India’s toughest medical entrance exams, the incident only added emotional stress and uncertainty.

As the issue gained attention, NTA officials acknowledged that it was caused by a technical glitch in the system. The agency assured the family that the problem would be corrected after verification and a fresh admit card with a Nagpur exam centre would be issued within a few hours. The response came after the matter was highlighted publicly, bringing some relief to the worried family.

The incident has raised serious questions about the reliability of the examination process, especially when students’ careers depend on it. Many aspirants and parents have expressed concern over how such an error could occur at such a critical stage. With Re-NEET 2026 being conducted under strict security measures after earlier controversies, this fresh glitch has once again put the spotlight on administrative lapses.

The Re-NEET UG 2026 exam will be held on June 21 in pen-and-paper mode from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM. Candidates have been advised to carefully verify every detail on their admit cards, including personal information and exam centres, and report any discrepancy immediately. For Abdullah and his family, what should have been the final step before the exam turned into an emotional rollercoaster — a reminder of how one small technical error can create massive anxiety for students.
