Ram Kapoor Faces Online Backlash After Heated Exchange Over Water During Lock Upp 2 Task

Mumbai, Actor Ram Kapoor has come under fire on social media after a tense moment during the latest episode of Lock Upp 2, with many viewers accusing him of displaying “entitled” behaviour during a task inside the reality show.

The controversy began when Ram complained that contestants had repeatedly asked for drinking water but had not received it.

Visibly frustrated, he addressed the makers during the task, saying, “I have been asking for water for a long time. You guys are making us do this without giving water. It’s not right. Send water.”

When water was still not provided before the task neared its end, Ram walked into the middle of the playing area and refused to let the challenge continue.

Host Riteish Deshmukh immediately warned him that he could be struck by a paintball if he remained standing there. Ram, however, brushed off the warning, replying, “Lagne do, aajao maaro.”

Riteish later clarified that each contestant had already been provided with a personal water bottle and that it was their own responsibility to carry it during tasks. After the explanation, Ram stepped aside, allowing the game to resume.

Social Media Reacts

Clips of the incident quickly went viral, triggering a wave of criticism online.

Several viewers accused the actor of overreacting, with one user writing, “This is just too much, Ram Kapoor.”

Another commented, “Why is he overacting so much?”

A third user remarked, “He wouldn’t dare to do all this in front of Salman Khan.”

Others described his conduct as “embarrassing” and “entitled,” while one viewer wrote, “Maybe he forgot he is in Lock Upp. Why would he get any special treatment?”

Second Controversy in the Show

This is the second time Ram Kapoor has faced criticism since entering the reality show.

Earlier, he drew backlash after defending his past remarks in which he had compared his hectic promotional schedule to being gang-raped, calling it his “sense of humour.”

Fellow contestant Shreya Kalra strongly objected to the remark and confronted the actor, stating that such comments should not be joked about.

In response, Ram said he was still learning from his mistakes and would continue to improve. While his explanation received mixed reactions, many viewers praised Shreya for speaking out.

Hosted by Riteish Deshmukh and Farah Khan, Lock Upp 2 features 15 contestants this season, including Dheeraj Dhoopar, Akanksha Chamola, Shivangi Joshi, Harshad Chopra, Shreya Kalra, Yogesh Rawat, Pamela Serena and Akanksha Choudhary. New episodes stream on Netflix from Saturday to Wednesday at 8 pm.
