NEET 2026 Paper Leak Rumours Debunked: PIB Says Viral Claim Is Fake

Amid growing speculation on social media, the Government’s fact-checking arm has dismissed claims that the NEET UG 2026 question paper was leaked ahead of the upcoming re-examination.

The controversy began after a social media user shared a screenshot allegedly obtained from a Telegram group, questioning whether the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) paper had been leaked once again. The image showed what appeared to be a question paper booklet marked “KAVERI,” along with a booklet code and other examination-related details.

However, the Press Information Bureau’s Fact Check unit quickly responded, clarifying that the claim was completely false.

According to PIB Fact Check, a question paper image was being circulated online with misleading claims of a fresh NEET leak. The agency stated that there was no evidence to support the allegation and urged students not to trust, share, or rely on unverified examination-related content circulating on social media platforms.

Officials advised candidates to obtain updates only through official channels and authentic examination authorities. Students were also encouraged to report suspicious or misleading content to PIB Fact Check for verification.

The clarification comes as authorities intensify efforts to combat misinformation ahead of the NEET UG 2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21. With lakhs of students preparing for the exam, officials have stressed the importance of relying solely on official announcements rather than viral social media posts.

The incident highlights the growing challenge of misinformation during major competitive examinations and the need for candidates to verify information before sharing it online.
