K Kavitha Targets Telangana Government, Seeks Probe Into Pawan Kalyan’s Land Holdings

Hyderabad: A fresh political controversy has erupted in Telangana after Telangana Rakshana Sena chief K Kavitha accused the state government of selectively targeting ordinary citizens while ignoring alleged land encroachments involving influential individuals and major developers.
Addressing the media, Kavitha criticized the anti-encroachment actions carried out by the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA), claiming that the agency was focusing on the poor and middle class while failing to act against large-scale violations allegedly involving powerful interests.
She alleged that public land worth nearly ₹1 lakh crore had been encroached upon across Telangana and questioned why authorities were not taking action against major real estate projects accused of occupying lake and government land.
Citing satellite imagery of Premavathipet Pedda Cheruvu on the outskirts of Hyderabad, Kavitha claimed that nearly seven acres of lake land had been illegally occupied. She demanded a thorough investigation and strict action against those responsible if the allegations were proven true.
The TRS leader also raised questions over a 10-acre land parcel reportedly owned by Pawan Kalyan near Kodikunta Lake. According to her, the property falls within protected “Shikam” land and Full Tank Level (FTL) boundaries. She urged the government to conduct a detailed inquiry and recover the land if any violations are found.
“Telangana’s land is not meant to be grabbed by the powerful. Every illegal occupation will be exposed with evidence,” Kavitha said while pressing for equal enforcement of land protection laws.
Leaders from Jana Sena Party strongly rejected the allegations, maintaining that the property was legally purchased and that all necessary approvals, registrations and permissions were obtained in accordance with the law.
Responding to the controversy, Pawan Kalyan stated that he welcomes any investigation and asserted that his property does not violate any legal or environmental regulations. As of now, Telangana government authorities have not issued an official response to the allegations.
The latest remarks come amid ongoing political tensions following Pawan Kalyan’s recent comments regarding Telangana. Seeking to clarify his position, he reiterated his respect for Telangana, its people and its right to self-governance, emphasizing that both Telugu-speaking states should work together with mutual respect and cooperation.
With allegations and counter-allegations continuing to dominate the political discourse, attention is now focused on whether authorities will initiate any inquiry into the claims raised by Kavitha.
