Jharkhand Man Arrested for Allegedly Plotting Father’s Murder to Secure Compassionate Government Job

In a disturbing case from Jharkhand’s Dhanbad district, police have arrested three individuals, including the victim’s son, for allegedly conspiring to murder a Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) employee in an attempt to secure a government job under the compassionate appointment scheme.

The accused have been identified as Vijay Nonia, Akhilesh Mallah and Amit Kumar Singh. According to police, Vijay Nonia, the middle son of the deceased, allegedly orchestrated the murder of his father, Tuleshwar Nonia, hoping to obtain employment benefits available to family members of deceased employees.

The case came to light on June 20 when a watchman informed police about an unidentified body lying near bushes along the Chitahi-Barora road. Officers reached the spot, recovered the body and launched an investigation.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was subsequently formed under the supervision of Rural Superintendent of Police S. Mohammad Yakub and under the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police Prabhat Kumar.

During the investigation, police allegedly uncovered a murder conspiracy involving Vijay Nonia and two accomplices. Investigators claim Vijay agreed to pay Rs 10 lakh to the co-accused to help carry out the crime.

Police said the murder was carefully planned. During interrogation, all three accused allegedly confessed to their involvement. Investigators revealed that Vijay, who had reportedly been unemployed for a long period, took his father to a secluded location where he was allegedly killed using a heavy stone.

Officials recovered the blood-stained stone believed to have been used in the crime, along with a motorcycle and clothing linked to the accused.

According to police, both financial gain and family-related motives appear to have played a role in the murder.

Authorities are now awaiting additional forensic reports and evidence as the investigation continues. A chargesheet is expected to be filed against the accused under charges including murder, criminal conspiracy and other serious offences.

Police have stated that further action will be taken if additional individuals are found to be connected to the crime.
