‘He Found It Hot’: Akanksha Chamola Opens Up About Gaurav Khanna Accepting Her Bisexuality
New Delhi: Lock Upp 2 contestant Akanksha Chamola has opened up about her sexuality, her marriage to television actor Gaurav Khanna and the personal choices that shaped their relationship.
In a recent conversation with Mid-Day, Akanksha said she had identified as bisexual before marrying Gaurav and that he was aware of and accepting of her sexuality.
“I have very specifically mentioned that I was bisexual before I got married,” she said, adding that Gaurav accepted it and found it “hot.” She also spoke about the broader perception of bisexuality and said she believes people should be more accepting of different sexual identities.
On Commitment After Marriage
Akanksha explained that although she identified as bisexual, she made a conscious decision to remain committed to Gaurav after their marriage.

She claimed that the segment highlighted only the portion where she appeared to be arguing with the host, which she believes contributed to the negative reaction.

Akanksha also spoke about concerns that being open about her bisexuality could affect her television career.
She said she had seen discussions suggesting that she could potentially find opportunities in OTT and web projects but might struggle to get work in television. Rather than viewing that as entirely negative, she said she would welcome opportunities on digital platforms as well.
At the same time, Akanksha argued that casting decisions in television should ultimately depend on an actor’s talent and suitability for a role rather than their sexual orientation.
She said producers would cast an actor based on whether they fit the requirements of a character, rather than whether they are heterosexual, homosexual or bisexual.
