Gulf Tensions Rise as Drone Attacks Spark Fires in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Beyond

Kuwait City:
A wave of drone attacks has heightened tensions across the Gulf region, with Iran accused of targeting key infrastructure in Kuwait. One of the most alarming incidents occurred at Kuwait International Airport, where fuel storage tanks were struck, triggering a massive fire that sent plumes of smoke into the sky.

According to Kuwait’s civil aviation authorities, the attack caused significant damage but, fortunately, no casualties were reported. Officials described the strike as a direct and serious escalation, blaming drones allegedly launched by Iran and allied groups.

The incident is part of a broader surge in regional conflict that began after joint military actions by the United States and Israel against Iran earlier this year. Since then, retaliation has unfolded across the Gulf, with missile and drone attacks targeting multiple countries seen as US allies.

In Bahrain, authorities also reported a fire at a commercial facility, linking it to the ongoing hostilities. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia confirmed that its defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed several incoming drones, preventing further damage.

Elsewhere, near Doha in Qatar, a tanker was hit during the attacks. Maritime officials stated that all crew members were safe and no environmental harm was detected.

Adding to the tension, earlier reports indicated that a Kuwaiti oil tanker caught fire at Dubai Port following a similar strike, though no injuries were reported in that incident either.

Amid the escalating situation, former US President Donald Trump stated that Gulf nations are متحدly backing the United States and responding strongly to the threats.

As fear and uncertainty spread across the region, residents are left hoping for restraint and dialogue to prevent the situation from spiraling into a larger conflict.
