Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi In Bengaluru: Traffic Diversions And Restrictions Announced
Bengaluru: Bengaluru is gearing up for Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi celebrations on Wednesday, August 26, with several processions expected across the city. To manage the anticipated rush and keep traffic moving, Bengaluru Traffic Police have announced diversions, vehicle restrictions and parking curbs in several areas.
Large numbers of people are expected to gather at the YMCA Ground on Nrupatunga Road between 12 noon and 11 pm, while celebratory processions will move through various parts of the city.
Commuters travelling through central and northern Bengaluru are likely to face delays, particularly along JC Road, KG Road, Raja Ram Mohan Roy Road, Kasturba Road, Mallya Hospital Road, RT Nagar Main Road, Dinnur Main Road, Jayamahal Road, Nagawara Main Road, Tannery Main Road and Haines Road-Miller’s Road.
Traffic Diversions
Vehicles travelling from Mysuru Road towards Majestic will be diverted through several alternative routes, including Nayandahalli Junction, Nagarabhavi Circle, Madduramma Temple, Chandra Layout Junction, R.P.C. Layout Junction, West of Chord Road, Vijayanagar Metro Station, Toll Gate Junction, Prasanna Junction, Hunasemara Junction, Lulu Mall, Okalipuram Junction and Khode Junction before continuing towards Majestic.
Commuters coming from Mysuru Road can also use Vijayanagar and Magadi Road to reach Majestic or KR Market and connect towards the western parts of Chord Road.
As the processions move through the city, additional diversions are expected around Market Circle, Town Hall, KR Road and SJP Road.
Heavy goods vehicles will face restrictions on selected routes between 12 noon and 11 pm. Parking will also be prohibited on certain stretches, including Queen’s Road and parts of Cubbon Park.
With celebrations continuing into the evening, commuters are advised to plan their journeys in advance, allow extra travel time and follow directions issued by traffic personnel on the ground.
