Congress Leader Questions Pawan Kalyan’s Silence on NEET Row, Criticises Telangana Remarks

HYDERABAD: A fresh political controversy erupted in Telangana after Congress leader Chanagani Dayakar questioned Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s silence over the alleged NEET examination paper leak while accusing him of making remarks that could hurt the sentiments of Telangana residents.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Dayakar asked why Pawan Kalyan had not spoken about issues affecting nearly 22 lakh students who appeared for the NEET examination. He argued that concerns surrounding the alleged paper leak deserved greater attention than political statements that could create tensions between neighboring states.
While stating that he respects the Jana Sena Party chief, Dayakar claimed that Pawan Kalyan appeared to be receiving misguided advice. He cautioned that involvement in Telangana’s internal affairs could negatively impact the actor-turned-politician’s image among the state’s people.
Highlighting Telangana’s long struggle for statehood, Dayakar said residents remain deeply attached to the sacrifices made during the movement. He alleged that Pawan Kalyan was being used by the BJP to advance its political interests in Telangana and accused him of promoting the agenda of senior BJP leaders.
Adding to the criticism, Congress leader Gajjela Kantham alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BRS leaders K.T. Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao played a role in Pawan Kalyan’s recent visit to Telangana during the state’s formation day celebrations. Kantham claimed that some of Kalyan’s comments had hurt public sentiments and sparked disappointment among sections of the population.
The remarks have intensified the political debate, with leaders from different parties continuing to trade accusations over regional identity, student issues, and the future political landscape of Telangana.
