Ambika Breaks Silence On Sister Radha’s Complaint In Rs 43.62 Crore Dispute

Chennai: Veteran actor Ambika has responded to a reported police complaint filed by her sister, actor Radha, in connection with an alleged Rs 43.62 crore cheque dispute involving Ambika and their brother Arjun Nair.
Speaking about the matter, Ambika questioned why a complaint had been filed against her and said she believed she was the person who had suffered wrongdoing. Since the dispute is now connected to legal proceedings, she said she could not discuss every detail publicly.
“I don’t know why Radha has given a complaint against me. Looking at this, I find it strange because I am actually the one who was cheated. I should have been the one to give the complaint,” Ambika said, as quoted by The Times of India.
She suggested that Radha may have acted on someone else’s advice, while stressing that the dispute has become particularly painful because it involves members of her own family.
Ambika Addresses ARS Garden Claims
Ambika also spoke about ARS Garden, a property that has reportedly become a key part of the dispute.
The actor rejected claims circulating on YouTube that the family had received 25 acres of land as a free gift from former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor MGR.
According to Ambika, the family purchased the property using money they had earned through their work in the film industry. She described ARS Garden as the family’s first property and said it holds deep personal significance for her.
“People on YouTube are saying that MGR gave us 25 acres of land for free. That is not true. It was a property that we bought with the money we worked hard to earn,” she said.
Ambika recalled being deeply upset when she saw the original ARS Garden name board being removed and replaced.
“When I saw my ARS Garden board being removed and another board being put up, I could not bear it. Everyone in Tamil cinema knows what ARS Garden means,” she said.
She also clarified that the property is not being sold and said it is currently involved in a legal dispute.
“ARS Garden is not for sale. Since there is a legal issue going on, I cannot speak openly about everything,” she added.
‘Things Are Not Like That Now’
Reflecting on her family’s past, Ambika spoke about the difficult years when the siblings stayed together and supported one another.
She recalled believing that family bonds were more important than anything else and said she once saw herself as one of the first steps in the family’s journey.
“When we were struggling, I was the first stepping stone for the family. At one point, we believed that if there was family and a bond, we should do anything for the family. But things are not like that now. Everyone is living separately,” she said.
Ambika also expressed sadness over what she sees as the growing importance of money in relationships.
“Thank you, sentiment, and all these things have disappeared from life. Everything in this world has become about money,” she said.
The dispute involving the property and alleged cheque transaction is now a legal matter. Ambika has indicated that she will refrain from discussing details that could be connected to the ongoing proceedings.
