Tourist Dies After Head-First Dive Into Shallow Resort Pool in Maharashtra, Incident Caught on Camera

Malvan, A 25-year-old tourist lost his life after diving headfirst into a shallow swimming pool at a resort in Maharashtra’s Sindhudurg district. The tragic incident, captured on video, has since gone viral on social media.

The deceased has been identified as Shrenik Milind Takale, a resident of Kolhapur district. He had travelled to Malvan with a group of nine friends for a vacation when the accident occurred on June 20 at a resort in the Vayari area.

Moments before the tragedy, the group was seen dancing and enjoying themselves near the pool. In the viral video, Takale is seen climbing to a height of around eight to ten feet before diving headfirst into what was later found to be a shallow children’s pool.

Police said the pool was only about four feet deep. The impact caused Takale’s head to strike the bottom of the pool, resulting in severe injuries.

His friends immediately rushed him to Malvan Rural Hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Following the incident, police registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR). After completing post-mortem formalities, the body was handed over to the victim’s family.

The investigation is being conducted under the supervision of Police Sub-Inspector Ganesh Mane, who is examining the circumstances surrounding the fatal accident.
