Bengaluru Woman, Friend Arrested For Allegedly Killing Husband And Four-Year-Old Son

Bengaluru: A shocking family tragedy has emerged from Bengaluru, where a woman and her male friend have been arrested for allegedly murdering her husband and four-year-old son inside their home in Chikkabanavara.

The accused, identified as Harini and her friend Vinay Kumar, were taken into custody after a police investigation uncovered what officials describe as a carefully planned double murder.

The case came to light on Monday morning when 35-year-old Abhinandan and his young son were found dead under suspicious circumstances at their residence. Initially, Harini reportedly informed police through the emergency helpline that she had discovered her husband and child unresponsive when she woke up.

However, investigators soon noticed inconsistencies in her account.

Speaking to reporters, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northwest) D K Nagesh said the suspicious deaths prompted a detailed investigation, which eventually revealed evidence pointing towards murder.

According to police, Harini and Kumar allegedly carried out the crime during the night after Abhinandan and his son had gone to sleep. Investigators believe the husband and wife had been involved in frequent arguments over domestic issues, and following a recent dispute, Harini allegedly decided to eliminate her husband with the help of her friend.

What makes the case even more heartbreaking is the death of the four-year-old child. Police allege that the original plan was only to target Abhinandan. However, the child reportedly woke up during the attack and witnessed what was happening. Investigators claim the accused then killed the boy to prevent him from becoming a witness.

Officials said both victims were allegedly smothered to death, leaving behind very few visible injuries and making the crime initially appear less suspicious.

The investigation also revealed a troubled history within the family. According to a complaint filed by Abhinandan’s mother, Harini had reportedly left home with Kumar about a year ago before returning two months later. Despite the incident, Abhinandan accepted her back, but disagreements between the couple allegedly continued.

The arrests have left neighbours and relatives stunned, with many struggling to come to terms with the loss of a father and his young son in such tragic circumstances.

Police have registered a murder case and said further investigation is ongoing to uncover all aspects of the crime.
