Agra Gears Up For US Vice President JD Vance’s Taj Mahal Visit With Tight Security

With the iconic Taj Mahal set to welcome a high-profile visitor, Agra is tightening its security ahead of US Vice President JD Vance’s scheduled visit on Wednesday. Vance, who arrived in Delhi on Monday along with his family for a four-day tour, will be making a stop in the historic city as part of his itinerary.
According to DCP City Sonam Kumar, multiple security and coordination meetings have already taken place involving the CISF, Archaeological Survey of India, Indian Air Force, and local police. “Duty arrangements will be made on the route. Verification of all artists and schoolchildren participating in the program is underway,” Kumar said.
The city is also getting a festive makeover in preparation for the high-level visit. Vance’s trip comes shortly after President Trump’s temporary tariff move against 60 nations — including India — making this visit diplomatically significant as well.
