BJP Veteran LK Advani, 97, Admitted to Hospital Following Health Concerns

Lal Krishna Advani, a prominent BJP leader and one of India’s longest-serving political figures, has been admitted to Apollo Hospital in Delhi after his health deteriorated late last night. At 97 years old, Advani, who celebrated his birthday last month, has been battling recurring health issues in recent months. This marks his fourth hospitalization since July, having previously received treatment at both Apollo Hospital and AIIMS in Delhi.
BJP spokesperson K Krishna Sagar Rao expressed well wishes for Advani’s recovery, describing him as “our tallest leader.”
Born in Karachi on November 8, 1927, Advani joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in 1942 and went on to become a key architect of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). His leadership journey saw him serve as the longest-serving National President of the BJP and play pivotal roles in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government, where he held positions as Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister from 1999 to 2004.
Earlier this year, Advani was honored with the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award, by President Droupadi Murmu for his lifelong contributions to the nation’s political landscape.
