Young IAS Officer Caught Red-Handed Taking ₹10 Lakh Bribe in Odisha, ₹47 Lakh Recovered in Raid

In a shocking development that has rocked Odisha’s bureaucratic circles, a young IAS officer serving as Sub-Collector in Dharamgarh, Kalahandi district, was caught red-handed while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹10 lakh from a local businessman.
According to an official release from the Odisha Vigilance Department, the officer—believed to be in his mid-30s—had called the complainant to his government residence, where he took the bribe and placed the cash in his desk drawer. The bribe was reportedly part of a larger demand totaling ₹20 lakh.
Following the incident, vigilance officials launched raids at his residence and recovered ₹47 lakh in cash. A case has been filed under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigation is currently underway.
