US, Pakistan Discuss Joint Counterterrorism Efforts in Islamabad

Islamabad: The United States and Pakistan held a fresh round of counterterrorism talks on Tuesday, focusing on strategies to address regional security threats, the US State Department confirmed.

Discussions highlighted the “critical importance” of developing effective measures against groups such as the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), ISIS-Khorasan, and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

A day earlier, Washington officially designated the separatist group BLA as a foreign terrorist organization, underscoring its growing concerns over militant activities in the region.
