US Man Attempts To Hijack Plane, Shot Dead By Passenger
In a terrifying mid-air incident on a Tropic Air flight headed to San Pedro, a 49-year-old man identified as Akinyela Sawa Taylor, a US citizen, attempted to hijack the small aircraft while armed with a knife. The chaos unfolded when Taylor suddenly began attacking fellow passengers, injuring three people on board.
The situation took a dramatic turn when a courageous passenger intervened and fatally shot the attacker, preventing what could have been a far greater tragedy.
Belize’s Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams, hailed the quick-thinking passenger as a “hero” and credited them with saving lives. Authorities are still investigating how Taylor was able to carry a weapon onto the plane.
