UP: Ambulance Driver Assaults, Molests Nurse at Bhadohi Hospital; Case Registered

Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh – A 22-year-old nurse at a private hospital in Bhadohi was allegedly molested and physically assaulted by an ambulance driver, police said on Saturday. The accused, identified as Rohit alias Mohit, is currently absconding.
According to police, the incident occurred on June 5 when the nurse was on a phone call. Rohit approached her and began molesting her. When she resisted, he reportedly pulled her by her hair, beat her, and threw her to the ground, said Kotwali SHO Sachidanand Pandey.
The SHO further stated that the driver also committed obscene acts, including putting his hand inside the nurse’s clothing. Her cries for help alerted doctors and hospital staff, who intervened, scolded the accused, and forced him to leave the premises.
Rohit, who frequently brings patients to the hospital, has not been seen since the incident. A search is currently underway to apprehend him.
A case has been filed against him under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including:
- Section 76 (assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to disrobe),
- Section 352 (intentional insult to provoke breach of peace),
- Section 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt).
Sources say that both the victim and the accused belong to the Dalit community. Police continue to investigate the matter and have assured that the accused will be brought to justice.
