Tragic End to Night Out: Woman Dies After Drunk Driving Crash in Gurugram
A night of celebration ended in tragedy when a young woman lost her life in a car crash caused by drunk driving early Thursday morning in Gurugram, police confirmed.
According to authorities, Kartik, a resident of Faridabad, and his friend Manisha, from Delhi’s Madangir, had gone to a club in Gurugram to party on Wednesday night. While returning around 5:30 am, their car rammed into a pole near Gwal Pahari after an animal reportedly darted onto the road.
The crash left both passengers injured. A police team rushed to the scene and transported them to a nearby hospital, where doctors sadly declared Manisha dead. Kartik, who sustained injuries, is currently undergoing treatment.
A medical examination revealed that Kartik was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. An FIR has been registered against him at the DLF Phase 1 police station.
ASI Jogendra Kumar stated that both families have been informed, and Manisha’s body was handed over to her family following a post-mortem examination.
This heart-wrenching incident is a sobering reminder of the deadly consequences of drunk driving.
