Tragedy at Wedding: UP Man Fatally Shot Over Alleged Affair with In-Law’s Relative
A 32-year-old man attending a wedding celebration in Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur was shot dead in a suspected case of personal enmity linked to a past relationship, police said.
Amit Trivedi, a resident of Lakhimpur Kheri, had arrived at Jeba Mukundpur village on Friday night to attend a marriage function from the bride’s side. His lifeless body was later discovered outside the village with a gunshot wound, confirmed Superintendent of Police Rajesh Dwivedi.
According to those close to Trivedi, his wife had passed away two to three years ago. Since then, he was allegedly involved in a relationship with a woman from his in-laws’ family, which may have sparked tensions leading to the fatal incident.
Following a complaint filed by Trivedi’s uncle, police registered a case against two men—Abhishek and Aman. Abhishek is reportedly the cousin of Trivedi’s deceased wife. Both accused are currently absconding, and police teams are working to trace them.
The shocking death has cast a shadow over what was meant to be a celebratory occasion, leaving the local community stunned.
