“Too Drunk To Remember, But Boasted About His Influence”: Woman Accuses MNS Leader’s Son After SUV Attack

Mumbai: Nail artist Rajshree More has alleged that Rahil Sheikh, the son of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) Vice President Javed Sheikh, deliberately rammed his SUV into her car, then verbally abused and threatened her — all while he was allegedly intoxicated and partially undressed.
Speaking to NDTV, Ms More recounted the frightening incident, saying she is now fearful of leaving her home and feels she is being targeted for speaking up. She appealed to MNS chief Raj Thackeray, urging him to ensure that his party workers do not harass non-Marathi residents, noting that Mumbai thrives because of its diverse population.
The incident occurred as she was returning from Goregaon to her residence in Andheri. Ms More said the SUV repeatedly rammed her car, raising suspicions that the attack was intentional. When she turned into a narrow lane near her house, the SUV allegedly hit her car again. She managed to spot two police constables and requested their help. They got into her car, but the SUV hit it once more.
Eventually, the SUV was stopped. When questioned, the driver refused to cooperate. “He was drunk, half-naked, and aggressive,” Ms More said. “He started hurling abuses and threatening me, saying, ‘Do you know who I am? My father is with MNS.’ He even told me to go to Raj Thackeray’s house to get compensation.”
She added that when taken to the police station, Sheikh continued to act defiantly, even putting his feet on the table and claiming his father could buy off the officers.
Past Run-In with MNS
Ms More has previously faced backlash from MNS supporters. Last week, she posted a video defending non-Marathi individuals after an MNS member was caught attacking a shopkeeper for not using the Marathi language. In her video, she had urged people to focus on hard work instead of imposing language. A complaint was lodged against her, and under pressure, she deleted the video — though she maintained she did nothing wrong and refused to apologise.
“I’m scared,” she said. “Every time the doorbell rings, I panic. I’m being targeted just because a Marathi woman defended others from different states.”
A Message to Raj Thackeray
In a heartfelt message, she said, “Raj Thackeray saheb, Mumbai belongs to all of us. Everyone who comes here wants to work hard and feed their families. If we chase away migrants, we’ll lose what makes this city special.”
She also highlighted that her own studio employs 50 people — 35 of whom are Marathi. “I’m not affiliated with any political party. I just want this harassment to stop. If anything happens to me, my family, or my business, I hold the political party targeting me responsible.”
Ms More concluded by revealing she had received direct threats — including one from an MNS leader warning her that her studio would be destroyed if she didn’t delete the video. Despite the pressure, she stood firm in her beliefs.
