Terrorist Behind 14 Blasts In Punjab Caught In US: First Visuals After Arrest

A breakthrough in an international terror investigation came as Harpreet Singh, also known as Happy Passia, was arrested in the United States and taken into custody by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The first image of Singh in FBI custody has now surfaced, marking a major step in the hunt for one of India’s most wanted terrorists.
Singh had reportedly entered the US illegally and was living under the radar using burner phones to dodge surveillance and arrest.
Back in India, Singh is accused of orchestrating 14 bomb blasts across Punjab over the past six months, mainly targeting police stations and political figures. His most recent attacks included bombings at the home of a YouTuber and at the residence of BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia, both in Jalandhar.
The string of explosions, especially around Amritsar since November 2024, had sparked high-alert operations by security forces. Harpreet Singh had even claimed responsibility for several attacks via social media posts.
Sources say Singh was allegedly working in close coordination with Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI and the Babbar Khalsa International group.
He carried a Rs 5 lakh reward on his head in India. With his arrest, authorities hope to unravel the full extent of the terror network involved and bring justice to the victims of the Punjab blasts.
