Tamil Nadu Minister Criticises Vijay Over ‘Uncle’ Remark Against CM Stalin

Cuddalore:
Tamil Nadu Agriculture Minister M R K Panneerselvam has hit out at actor-turned-politician Vijay for addressing Chief Minister M K Stalin as “uncle”, calling the remark politically inappropriate and lacking in decorum.

The minister said Vijay appeared to confuse politics with cinema, speaking to crowds as though delivering a film dialogue. “This shows his lack of maturity. He targeted the DMK leadership presuming it would help his political cause. But cinema and politics are not the same,” Panneerselvam remarked.

Defending the DMK government, he highlighted several welfare measures, including the Rs 1,000 monthly assistance scheme for women. He added that the DMK, under Stalin’s leadership, has faced hardships, staged protests, and consistently worked to implement pro-people initiatives aimed at improving lives across the state.
