“Take the Money, But Don’t Fall for the Trap”: Kejriwal Warns Jhuggi Residents Against BJP’s Alleged Tactics in Delhi Elections

In a passionate appeal ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal has warned slum residents about an alleged scheme by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to mislead voters. Speaking on Sunday, Kejriwal claimed that BJP workers are going door-to-door, offering Rs 3,000 to residents and promising home voting facilitated by the Election Commission.

Expressing deep concern, the former Delhi Chief Minister said he was unable to sleep after hearing about the issue. “I am your big brother, and I couldn’t sleep last night. This is a trap—don’t fall for it. If you vote for them and get your finger inked, they may file a case against you and have you arrested,” he cautioned.

Kejriwal advised people to accept any money being offered but not to vote for BJP. “If they are giving you money for free, take it—but don’t vote for them,” he urged. He further alleged that if the BJP comes to power, they would demolish slum settlements. “Look at Mumbai—Dharavi, Asia’s largest slum, has been handed over to one of their friends,” he claimed.

Additionally, Kejriwal has written to the Chief Election Commissioner, alleging that AAP workers in the New Delhi Assembly constituency are facing intimidation from BJP workers and the Delhi Police. He demanded independent observers to ensure fair elections, protection for AAP volunteers, and strict action against those involved in violence.

Kejriwal is contesting the New Delhi Assembly seat against Congress’s Sandeep Dikshit and BJP’s Parvesh Verma. The Delhi elections are set for February 5, with vote counting scheduled for February 8.
