Sunny & Bobby Deol Get Emotional As They Greet Guests At Dharmendra’s Prayer Meet

Three days after the passing of legendary actor Dharmendra, his sons Sunny and Bobby Deol organised a prayer meet on November 27 at Mumbai’s Taj Lands End hotel. The gathering witnessed an outpouring of love, respect, and grief as celebrities across generations arrived to pay tribute to the veteran star.

A widely shared picture from the event shows Sunny and Bobby Deol standing with folded hands, emotionally welcoming guests. Their cousin Abhay Deol was also present, along with Bobby’s wife Tanya Deol and their son Aryaman.

Advocate Ashish Shelar, who attended the meet, posted the viral image on Instagram, describing Dharmendra as an icon whose “simplicity stood tall beside his stardom” and someone whose warmth touched countless lives. He extended condolences to the Deol family, calling the actor’s legacy timeless.

The prayer meet saw the presence of prominent Bollywood figures including Salman Khan, Rekha, Madhuri Dixit, Aishwarya Rai–Abhishek Bachchan, Aryan Khan, Soha Ali Khan, Ameesha Patel, Sidharth Malhotra, and Suniel Shetty. Vidya Balan, Shabana Azmi, Jackie Shroff, Fardeen Khan, Nimrat Kaur, Sonu Sood, Anu Malik, Subhash Ghai, Abbas-Mustan, Anil Sharma, and many others also attended to offer their final respects.

Notably, Hema Malini and her daughters were absent from the event.

Dharmendra, aged 89, passed away at his Mumbai residence on November 24, shortly after being discharged from hospital earlier this month. He had been admitted on October 31 due to breathlessness. His final on-screen appearance will be in Sriram Raghavan’s upcoming film Ekkis, where he portrays the father of Agastya Nanda.
