“SRK Doesn’t Need The Internet”: Suniel Shetty Praises Shah Rukh Khan’s Timeless Stardom

Actor Suniel Shetty believes that superstar Shah Rukh Khan doesn’t rely on social media or constant online presence to remain relevant. According to Shetty, the actor’s timeless appeal, powerful filmography, and memorable music have helped him maintain stardom across generations.

In a conversation with Raj Shamani, Shetty reflected on what makes Shah Rukh Khan stand out in the Indian film industry. He highlighted the role of music in shaping SRK’s early success, saying that iconic songs and soundtracks played a major role in connecting the actor with audiences.

“Music Played A Huge Role”

Shetty explained that in India, music is often central to a film’s success, and Shah Rukh Khan benefited from some of the most memorable songs during his rise in Bollywood.

He pointed out that the collaboration between SRK and legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra produced unforgettable music and romantic films that strengthened the actor’s popularity.

“Because he had music. In India, music matters. He had Yash ji with him and the best songs,” Shetty said, adding that Shah Rukh Khan’s dedication to his craft and ability to constantly reinvent himself have been key to his longevity.

According to Shetty, SRK’s personality also contributes to his enduring appeal. “He’s complete from a human perspective. The respect he gives and expects—he’s there when he’s needed,” he added.

Stardom Beyond Social Media

Shetty also spoke about how today’s entertainment landscape often equates online visibility with relevance. However, he believes Shah Rukh Khan represents an older generation of stars whose influence comes from their work rather than social media activity.

“He’s not about social media. He’s not about posting. He has a yesteryear charm, which many earlier stars had,” Shetty said.

He further explained that for actors like Shah Rukh Khan, it’s their films and performances that truly define their legacy.

Interestingly, Shetty also mentioned Ranbir Kapoor, saying the actor’s charm lies in maintaining a low online presence and letting his work speak for itself.

Upcoming Projects

On the work front, Suniel Shetty will next be seen in Welcome to the Jungle, directed by Ahmed Khan, alongside Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal. He is also set to reunite with the original cast in Hera Pheri 3.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is preparing for King, directed by Siddharth Anand. The film will mark the big-screen debut of Suhana Khan and also stars Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, and Anil Kapoor.
