Shiv Sena Leader Ashok Dhodi Found Dead in Gujarat: Family Accuses Brother of Murder

In a tragic turn of events, Shiv Sena leader Ashok Dhodi, who had been missing for 11 days, was found dead in the boot of an abandoned car in Gujarat. His family alleges that his own younger brother, Avinash Dhodi, masterminded the abduction and murder.
The shocking discovery was made after police retrieved Dhodi’s car from a 45-foot-deep stone quarry in Bhilad following a four-hour search operation. The investigation, led by Superintendent of Police Balasaheb Patil, intensified when officers found CCTV footage showing Dhodi’s red Brezza car being driven towards Gujarat.
Dhodi, who disappeared on January 20 from Dahanu in Palghar district, was initially reported missing. However, the case took a grim turn on January 27 when police recovered his slipper, spectacles, and bloodstained documents. Four suspects were arrested, and during interrogation, they confessed to the crime and led police to the location of the body.
Authorities confirmed that Ashok Dhodi was murdered on the same day he was kidnapped. His remains were sent to JJ Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, the prime suspect, his brother Avinash, managed to escape police custody and is currently on the run. Avinash has a history of criminal activities in Maharashtra and Gujarat, with his brother often opposing his involvement in illegal liquor smuggling and sand dumping.
Dhodi’s wife and son hold Avinash responsible for the murder, alleging that authorities ignored previous threats against him. “My husband was threatened multiple times. There was even an attempt to kill him in a staged car accident. His brother is deeply involved in the liquor mafia,” his wife claimed.
As police continue their search for Avinash Dhodi, the case has left the local community shaken, highlighting a tragic family feud that ended in bloodshed.
