“She Bled to Death”: Tribal Mother of Two Brutally Gang-Raped in Madhya Pradesh, Nation Demands Justice

In a heart-wrenching tragedy from Madhya Pradesh, a tribal woman — a mother of two — was brutally gang-raped and left to die from her injuries in the Khandwa district’s Khalwa tribal belt. The horrific assault took place around 1 PM on Saturday in the Roshni Chowki area.
The woman, who had gone missing for a brief time, was found unconscious by her daughter in a nearby house. By the time help arrived, it was too late — she had already bled to death. Her shocking death has left the village in silence and sparked widespread anger across the state.
Following information from locals, police arrested two men known to the woman — Hari Palvi, in whose home she was found, and Sunil Dhurve. They are suspected to have gang-raped and tortured her.
Her body has been sent for postmortem at the Khandwa district hospital, where forensic experts are involved to ensure a thorough examination. “The postmortem report will give us clarity on the full extent of the brutality,” said a senior police official.
Outrage has also erupted on social media. Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Jitu Patwari condemned the incident in a post on X (formerly Twitter), calling it “a barbaric crime that surpasses even the darkest days of lawlessness.” He slammed the administration for failing to create a fear of law, saying, “Such cruelty can only happen when the state loses its conscience.”
This tragedy has once again laid bare the vulnerability of women from tribal communities and the urgent need for stronger, faster justice.
