Scammer Posing as Mumbai Cop Gets Caught by Real Kerala Officer: A Hilarious Twist

As cybercrimes surge across India, scammers are constantly coming up with new tricks to deceive innocent victims. However, one recent case in Kerala turned into a comedic misadventure for a scammer who tried to impersonate a Mumbai Police officer.

According to a report by the Hindustan Times, the con artist’s plan backfired spectacularly when he unknowingly video-called an actual police officer from Thrissur’s Cyber Cell, mistaking him for a potential victim. The scammer, dressed in a police uniform, tried to convince the Thrissur officer of his fake identity.

Initially, the officer played along, keeping his camera off while answering the scammer’s questions calmly. When the scammer insisted that the officer turn on his camera, the officer finally complied, revealing his true identity.

The sudden revelation left the scammer laughing in disbelief as he realized his blunder. The Thrissur officer seized the moment to give the scammer a reality check: “This is Cyber Cell. I have your address and location. It’s best you stop doing this.”

Caught red-handed and confronted by a real cop, the scammer’s audacious attempt turned into an embarrassing lesson in who not to call.
