Reckless Thar Driver Arrested in Noida After Causing Panic, Fined Rs 38,000

A man from New Delhi, identified as Sachin Kumar Lohia, has been arrested after a viral video showed him driving recklessly through Noida’s Sector 16 market. The disturbing footage captured him hitting multiple parked motorcycles and knocking down two people on an Activa scooter before fleeing the scene. Fortunately, the scooter riders managed to avoid serious injury by reacting swiftly.
The incident, which took place on March 10, sparked widespread public outrage. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Ram Badan Singh, Lohia had visited a car accessories market in Sector 16 to install speakers in his Thar when he got into an argument with a shopkeeper. Shortly after, he drove dangerously through the crowded area.
Authorities have since impounded his vehicle and issued him a fine of Rs 38,000. An FIR has been registered against him under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including charges related to rash driving, criminal intimidation, and causing harm.
Reckless driving incidents like this are becoming increasingly common in Delhi-NCR, with many drivers and bikers engaging in dangerous stunts on public roads. Such behavior not only puts their own lives at risk but also endangers pedestrians and other motorists. Authorities continue to urge stricter enforcement of traffic laws to curb these rising cases of road irresponsibility.
