Ratan Tata’s Brief Foray into Films: Co-produced ‘Aetbaar’ with Bachchan
NEW DELHI: Ratan Tata, the former chairman of the Tata Group, renowned for his vast influence across various sectors, ventured into the entertainment industry just once, and the outcome was not as expected.
Tata Infomedia, in collaboration with Cutting Edge Entertainment Productions, co-produced the film “Aetbaar,” which unfortunately failed at the box office. Directed by Vikram Bhatt, this psychological thriller, inspired by the 1996 Hollywood movie “Fear,” featured a stellar cast including Amitabh Bachchan, John Abraham, and Bipasha Basu.
On Thursday, as the nation mourned the loss of Tata, who passed away at the age of 86 in a Mumbai hospital, members of the film’s team expressed their grief. Amitabh Bachchan wrote on his blog: “I have just learned about the passing of Shri Ratan Tata. A man of great respect, humility, and visionary leadership. I had the privilege of spending meaningful time with him during several humanitarian campaigns. My prayers are with him.
