Rajpal Yadav Resumes Shooting for Welcome to the Jungle After Bail in ₹9-Crore Cheque Bounce Case

Just days after walking out of Tihar Jail on bail, Rajpal Yadav has returned to what he knows best the film set.

The actor has begun shooting for Welcome to the Jungle in Mumbai, marking a swift return to work following his release in connection with a ₹9-crore cheque bounce case. His team confirmed that he headed straight to filming after arriving in the city. A press conference is also scheduled for February 28.

Legal Relief From Delhi High Court

The Delhi High Court recently granted interim suspension of Yadav’s sentence until March 18. Justice Swarna Kanta Sharma directed the actor to furnish a personal bond of ₹1 lakh along with a surety of the same amount. The court also noted that ₹1.5 crore had been deposited in the respondent’s bank account while granting relief.

Soon after his release, Yadav shared a heartfelt message on Instagram thanking fans for their continued support. Speaking to ANI, he said that his lawyer, Bhaskar Upadhyay, would address all legal matters moving forward, adding that he was grateful for the opportunity to return to work.

Back to the ‘Welcome’ Franchise

Directed by Ahmed Khan, Welcome to the Jungle boasts a massive ensemble cast featuring Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, and Johnny Lever, among many others.

The film continues the popular Welcome franchise, which began with Welcome, directed by Anees Bazmee. The original starred Feroz Khan, Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, and Paresh Rawal. Its sequel, Welcome Back, featured John Abraham and Shruti Haasan in lead roles.

In November, Akshay Kumar shared behind-the-scenes moments from the new film, including a dance clip with Disha Patani, even giving a nostalgic shoutout to Katrina Kaif, fondly calling her the franchise’s “Queen.”

For Rajpal Yadav, known for his impeccable comic timing, the return to the big screen signals both a professional comeback and a personal reset as legal proceedings continue alongside his work commitments.
