Two days after tying the knot, badminton superstar PV Sindhu shared her first reaction on social media, accompanied by a series of radiant wedding photos and a simple ‘heart’ emoji. Sindhu and her husband, Venkata Datta Sai, Executive Director at Hyderabad-based Posidex Technologies, looked overjoyed as they celebrated their union in a traditional ceremony on December 22, 2024.
The intimate wedding was attended by close family and friends, with the couple exchanging vows dressed in stunning traditional attire. Jodhpur’s Culture and Tourism Minister, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, was among the attendees and shared the first glimpse of the wedding on social media.
Sindhu’s father, PV Ramana, revealed that the wedding date was chosen carefully to fit into her demanding schedule. “The two families had known each other, but everything was finalized only a month ago. December was the only available window as her badminton calendar gets hectic from January,” he explained.
The celebrations began on December 20, and the wedding reception is set to take place in Hyderabad on December 24. Despite the joyous occasion, Sindhu is already preparing to resume training for the next season, a crucial one for her career.
Sindhu, one of India’s most celebrated athletes, has a remarkable legacy with five world championship medals, including a gold in 2019, and Olympic medals at Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020. Her career-high world ranking of No. 2 in 2017 remains a testament to her excellence on the court.
